We kept the soul: fruit, craft, reverence.
But reimagined the experience — vibrant, curious, open-minded and full of wonder.
A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER
I’ve always been someone who lives for the night.
Dinner that turns into dancing. A rooftop toast that leads to a second bottle. Long, meandering conversations with people I’ve just met—but somehow feel like I’ve always known.
But for all the magic the night offered, the drinks often fell short.
Cocktails felt too heavy. Wine got sleepy. I wanted something light, bright, and alive with possibility. Something that could keep up with me... and the night.
Then one evening, I stumbled across a plum spirit that completely surprised me. It was tart, unexpected, and full of energy. That sip stayed with me. It sparked an idea I couldn’t shake.
So I left my decade-long career in finance to create UME:
A drink that’s not too sweet, not too bitter, and never boring.
A drink that’s made for mixing, sipping, sharing... and staying out just a little longer.

Our purple hue comes from anthocyanins—natural pigments found in fruits and flowers. Ours is derived from purple cabbage, but you’ll find it in everything from butterfly pea flower to blueberries.
Bonus magic: anthocyanins are pH-sensitive, meaning your UME drink might shift in color depending on what you mix it with—like a mood ring for your cocktail.
